Bioactivity Comments
UAWJ9-36-3 inhibits the enzymatic activity of Mpro's from a range of human coronaviruses (SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-NL63, HCoV-229E, HCoV-HKU1; IC50 45-450 nM) [1]. It is more potent in cellular antiviral activity assays than GC-376. UAWJ9-36-3 has improved selectivity compared to GC-376 against host cysteine proteases calpain 1 and cathepsin L, but not against cathepsin K [1].
