Several inactivating mutations of the FSHR have been reported. Most, but not all, cause the mutant receptor to be retained intracellularly, thereby reducing cell surface expression [31].
Biologically Significant Variants Click here for help
Type:  Single nucleotide polymorphisms
Species:  Human
Description:  Two polymorphisms in linkage disequilibrium, p.N307A and p.N680S, have been suggested to alter gonadal responsiveness to endogenous and exogenous FSH.

General Comments
FSH can bind with high affinity to the extracellular domain of the receptor in the absence of transmembrane domains. The structure of the extracellular domain of the receptor complexed with FSH has been determined [12,18].
