General Comments |
DNA topoisomerase 4 (also know as Topoisomerase IV) is a Type II DNA topoisomerase [1-2]. It is one of two enzymes of this subclass found in bacteria, the other being DNA gyrase. DNA topoisomerase 4 decatenates interlinked daughter chromosomes following DNA replication [3]. It catalyzes ATP-dependent breakage, passage and rejoining of double-stranded DNA. |
