GtoPdb Ligand ID: 12035

Synonyms: cementoin | trappin-2
Immunopharmacology Ligand
Comment: Elafin is a protease inhibitor and it is an endogenous antimicrobial peptide. It is a component of the innate immune response and contributes to controlling microbial infection in mucosal surfaces [1,3-6]. Therapeutic potential of elafin and its precursor trappin-2 is discussed by Deraison et al. (2022) [2].
Species: Human
