Synonyms: interleukin-21 | ZA11
Compound class:
Endogenous peptide in human, mouse or rat
Comment: IL-21 acts via the IL-21 receptor expressed on the surface of T, B and NK cells.
Species: Human
|
Bioactivity Comments |
IL-21 has been shown to eliminate glioblastoma multiforme cells via activation of the cytolytic reactivity of Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in vitro and in an in vivo model [2]. These findings suggest that IL-21-sensitized allogeneic human Vγ9Vδ2 T cells might offer a novel immunotherapeutic approach for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme. |
