GtoPdb Ligand ID: 11847

Synonyms: EVP-77 | EVP77 | ML3 SA1 | ML3SA1
Compound class: Synthetic organic
Comment: ML3-SA1 (EVP-77) is a small molecule agonist of the mucolipin TRP cation channel 3 (TRPML3; MCOLN3) [1]. It has been used in a mouse model to demonstrate that TRPML3 acts as a key regulator of MMP-12 clearance by alveolar macrophages, and this identifies TRPML3 as a novel molecular target for the design of drugs to treat emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
