Comment: OCT2013 is an aliphatic amine N-oxide that is converted to lidocaine in vivo [1]. This conversion can occur in the reducing environment of the ischaemic myocardium, an effect that may offer an alternative to lidocaine to produce conduction block during ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
