Irresistin-16 effectively treats Neisseria gonorrhoeae in a mouse vaginal infection model [1]. The MIC for in vitro antibacterial activity against N. gonorrhoeae is 0.03 μg/ml, compared to the MIC for SCH-79797 which is 4 μg/ml for this pathogen.
