Malaria Pharmacology Comments |
Cleavage and Polyadenylation Specificity Factor subunit 3 (CPSF3 or CPSF73) is a 73kDa subunit of the CPSF protein complex. This complex directs the 3' cleavage and polyadenylation reaction that is an essential step in eukaryotic mRNA processing. CPSF3 is a zinc-dependent endonuclease that cleaves the mRNA precursor downstream of the polyadenylation signal sequence [1]. P. falciparum CPSF3 (PfCPSF3) has been identified as a possible target for the benzoxaborole hit compound AN3661 and may have potential as a target for antimalarial drug development [2]. |
