N-myristoyltransferases

The N-myristoyltransferases, NMT1 and NMT2, catalyse addition of the fatty acid myristate to the N-terminal glycine residues of substrate proteins. This post-translational modification is required for the subcellular targeting, protein conformation and biological activity of many signal transduction proteins.
