Immunopharmacology Comments |
PYHIN1 participates in the innate immune response to microbial DNA [1], and contributes to the induction of the interferon response to viral pathogens. |

General Comments |
PYHIN1 is a member of the ALR pattern recognition receptor family, a set of four related human genes classified by structural similarities as the Pyrin and HIN domain family (HGNC family 995). In addition to acting as a sensor of viral DNA, PYHIN1 also interacts with factors involved in transcriptional regulation and chromatin modulation [1]. |
