Immunopharmacology Comments
This is the common signal transducing subunit shared by members of the IL-6 family of cytokine receptors [2].
IL-6/IL-6R regulated signalling pathways represent a druggable target for the therapy of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and cancer [3]. IL6ST (gp130) is being investigated as therapeutic target for the treatment of autoimmune diseases [3-4]. For example i-Mab Biopharma have a gp130 targeting Fc fusion protein (olamkicept; TJ301) in early stage clinical trial in patients with active ulcerative colitis (Ph2 NCT03235752).
