Immunopharmacology Comments
Interleukin-1 receptor-like 2 is one of the subunits of the functional receptor for IL-36.

An antibody that mimics IL-36RA's antagonist activity at the IL-36 receptor (MAB92) has been described [2]. MAB92 inhibits proinflammatory cytokine production in primary human keratinocytes and dermal fibroblasts in vitro. Such IL-36 antagonist antibodies are predicted to present a novel therapeutic mechanism for the treatment of epithelial cell-mediated inflammation, in particular for DITRA (deficiency of IL-36 receptor antagonist) type syndromes caused by functionally inactivating mutations in IL-36RA which leave the pro-inflammatory activity of IL-36 receptor ligands unopposed.
