Immunopharmacology Comments
CXCL5 is upregulated at sites of inflammation. It is expressed by multiple hematopoietic cell types and by non-immune cells (e.g. fibroblasts, endothelial cells, vascular smooth muscle cells, and adipocytes). CXCL5 is a chemoattractant for neutrophils, as well as being involved in neutrophil homeostasis, and it exhibits angiogenic properties. The cognate receptor for CXCL5 is CXCR2.
