Immunopharmacology Comments
CXCL2 is a lignd for the chemokine receptor CXCR2. It is expressed by monocytes and macrophages and is a chemotactic for polymorphonuclear leukocytes and hematopoietic stem cells. The ctytokine IL-17 which is required to fight infection and is an important medaitor of chronic inflammation in autoimmune diseases is able to induce CXCL2 (and CXCL1) production.
