Comment: Avdoralimab (IPH5401) is a fully human IgGκ monoclonal antibody that targets the complement C5a receptor 1, and blocks C5a/C5aR1 signalling in subsets of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and neutrophils. It has immunomodulating activity.

Avdoralimab (IPH5401) blocks C5a/C5aR1 signalling in subsets of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and neutrophils. It has immunomodulating activity. In the tumour microenvironment avdoralimab exposure blocks secretion of inflammatory and angiogenic factors by MDSCs and neutrophils, which precipitates the activation of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, and the induction of anti-tumour immune responses.
