Immunopharmacology Comments
As a result of its significant role in controlling immune cell function PI3Kδ has been identified as a potential target for the treatment of immunological disorders. Compound 52 exhibits a favourable PK/PD profile and is effective in a mouse collagen-induced arthritis model [2]. Isoform selectivity is essential for successful (safe) drug development because PI3Kα is known to affect glucose and insulin signalling [1], and platelet function.
