General Comments
Given SMG1's role in ensuring integrity of translated proteins [1-2,4-5], and the observation that some disease phenotypes result from aberrant translation of truncated, partially functional proteins, SMG1 has become as a interventional molecular target. Therapeutic inhibitors of SMG1 are being sought [3].
