Flurbiprofen is approved to treat the pain and inflammation associated with rheumatic diseases and other musculoskeletal disorders, as well as dysmenorrhoea, migraine and as postoperative analgesia.

Flurbiprofen reversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes 1 and 2, causing a reduction in synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins.
